Prayer at Hermit House

A House Built on One Thing

Hermit House exists for one purpose — to give you a place where you can pray. Not a quick prayer before bed. Not a rushed morning devotion. Real prayer. The kind that takes time, costs something, and changes everything.

This is a single house. One person at a time. No groups, no programmes, no noise. Just you, God, and as much time as you need.

Why Prayer Matters

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

— Matthew 6:6

Jesus did not just teach about prayer. He withdrew to pray. Regularly. Deliberately. Even when crowds were following Him, even when people needed Him, He pulled away to be alone with His Father.

If the Son of God needed that kind of time apart, so do we.

Hermit House is your room with the door closed. A place where the world outside stops and the conversation with God begins.

What Happens When You Pray Here

There is something that happens when you remove every distraction and give God your full attention. Burdens lift. Direction comes. Confusion clears. Things that felt impossible start to shift.

We have seen it happen again and again in this house. People arrive heavy and leave light. People arrive lost and leave with a clear word from God. People arrive broken and leave with a renewed sense of who they are in Him.

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

— Jeremiah 33:3

Fasting and Prayer

Many guests come to Hermit House to combine fasting with prayer. Fasting is one of the most powerful things a believer can do. It is not about punishing yourself. It is about telling your body that there is something more important right now than food — and that thing is hearing from God.

“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”

— Joel 2:12

If you are planning to fast during your stay, let us know when you book so we can make sure the house is prepared to support you well.

Who This House Is For

Hermit House is for anyone who is hungry for God. You do not need a title or a ministry. You do not need to have it all together. You just need to want more of Him.

This house has welcomed pastors and new believers. People in crisis and people in celebration. People seeking direction and people who simply wanted to say thank you to God in a quiet place.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

— Jeremiah 29:13

If something is drawing you here, that is enough reason to come.

Before You Arrive

Here are a few things that will help you make the most of your time at Hermit House:

  • Bring your Bible and a journal
  • Come with a question or a specific thing you are seeking God about
  • Let go of your schedule for the duration of your stay
  • Expect God to speak — He promised He would

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

— Psalm 46:10
